Safeguarding

As Christian people, the welfare and safety of all our parishioners is of paramount importance to everyone at St Nicholas’, but each parish in our diocese also has an appointed Safeguarding Representative who receives training and support from Clifton to manage the established process.

For St Nicholas Parish Anna Elliott undertakes the role and she can be contacted in person at church or by email at :  PSR.winchcombe.stnicholas@cliftondiocese.com

Belinda Neuberger at Bishop’s Cleeve is supporting Anna in this role.

The Diocesan Safeguarding Representatives in Clifton can also be contacted directly on:  Liam.Ring@cliftondiocese.com   Becky.Cawsey@cliftondiocese.com

Parish Safeguarding Representatives have a special responsibility for promoting good and safe practices in all activities involving our children, young people and any adults at risk.  Part of Anna’s role will be getting in touch with Eucharistic Ministers and Catechists etc as each person’s DBS check become due once again in the coming year.  The Church has worked long to establish a system of ensuring we do as much as possible to ensure the safety of all.  Please co-operate fully in this essential process.

Most importantly – If you have any concerns whatsoever or just questions about safeguarding in our parish, please contact Anna, Liam or Becky at the earliest opportunity.
