Pope Francis and the Synod office in Rome are inviting the whole Church to become Synodal.

We are invited to journey together, listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in the lives of the people we meet.

The whole ‘Synod’ will be a two-year process beginning in every diocese in October 2021 and moving on to a national then international listening exercise.

The Synod prayer, Preparatory document and the Synod Vademecum provide us with an in depth understanding of what the synod entails.

Information sessions to help us with understanding the process in Clifton have taken place with parish representatives . There will now a time of preparation and – in January – we start discussion groups on a variety of topics associated with our faith and parish life.

Please continue to look at the Clifton website and our local newsletter for further updates.

As the stewards of God’s creation, we have responsibility for our planet’s future. The Climate Liturgy led by Bishop Declan on Saturday October 23rd in the Cathedral in Bristol, offered the chance to engage with the issues facing our planet through prayer and worship.   The Liturgy was both a recognition of the work of organisations involved in the Climate Change Campaign in the Clifton Diocese, and an ongoing call and blessing by Bishop Declan for all to continue the action to protect God’s world. Contact Liz Baldwin at CAFOD Clifton if you would like any further details of how CAFOD are promoting this cause –

The Youth organisation based at Encounter Church in Winchcombe – known as “We All Matter” is also looking for your help to find ‘IT’ equipment for local families. Once again, see the newsletter for full details and contact   Beate: 07827961765 or  Renée: 609393
